Traffic After School
Parents and others who pick up children after school. 13th street is a NO PASSING zone. Please do not go around cars waiting to pick up a child once you are past Nohway street. If you must go around please turn left at Nohway and go around the block. We have had several close calls with students in the cross walk when cars pass. We've also had some close calls with cars that are pulling away from the curb encountering cars that have passed and are attempting to get through.

Swimming starts Wednesday August 27th
Students will be traveling to the public pool during their PE time for the next 3 weeks. They will need to bring a towel and their swim suit.
Band Starts this Week!
Students will be meeting with the band directors this week. We encourage ALL 6th grade students to consider joining band. We never know which of our students has musical potential just waiting to be discovered. Learning an instrument is also good for the brain. According to the Parents' Music Room website,
"Everyone is musical, everyone can sing, and every child can get an enormous amount of pleasure and benefit from learning an instrument. Go about it the right way and you will be giving your child an experience that will last them throughout their life. "
So encourage your child to give it a try. Students who struggle in school, especially, can find great satisfaction and success through learning to play and instrument.

Back TO School Night
All Clinton Elementary School students are invited to Back-T0-School Night on Monday August 18th from 4:00 to 7:00pm. This is a come and go event. This will be a great time for students to meet their teachers, drop off their school supplies, and receive vital information about rules and procedures for your his/her classroom. You are welcome to look around the school and help your child become familiar with new surroundings.
Open Enrollment Starts August 4th
Parents,
The Clinton elementary schools are doing enrollment a little differently this year. Please be aware that you may enroll your child anytime between the hours of 9:00 and 4:00 August 8th through August 12th. We hope to have all enrollment completed at that time. Just come by your child's school office. Please take the time to fill out the lunch forms, the majority of our students DO qualify as income requirements are surprisingly high. Bring copies of recent pay stubs, and/or food stamp acceptance documentation. It is not necessary to bring your child to enroll. A separate back-to-school night is planned where your child can come and meet their teachers and look around.
New Students please also bring a birth certificate and shot records.
An additional emergency phone number is also desperately needed for most students.
